DIY // Foil Manicure

Sometimes, the best materials are sitting right under our very noses. Who would've thought that the humble kitchen foil could be used for nail art? This DIY is a super simple one that you can whip up in 20 minutes, and the results look very impressive for something that came from your kitchen!

What you'll need:

  • A base colour (preferably a dark one, so your foil can stand out)
  • A clear coat
  • Small piece of foil
  • Scissors

1. Cut your foil into small triangular pieces.

2. Paint your nails with your base colour.

3. While your base is still wet, carefully place 3-4 pieces of foil with the shiny side up (you can use tweezers if you'd like), starting from one of the top corners.

4. Continue for the rest of your fingers and your other hand, and once it's dry, finish with a clear coat.

So as you can see, there's no need to go out and buy gold or silver foil when there are lots of things you can use at home! As a DIY-er, I love the challenge of coming up with ways to make something using what I already have at home - after all, where's the fun of being creative when you have to go out and buy everything new before you can start? There are lots of other designs you can make using foil, so get creating and don't forget to share a pic!
